| Zusammenfassung: | eng: Hypothesis: New Technologies reduce interpersonal communication, social interaction and cooperation at work. This problem concerns women in different ways. First of all are women in disposal of particular 'competences of communication'. Secondly is office-work a special women's domain. Part I consists of a theoretical discussion on women and their relation to technology. Part II starts with an introduction of three different theories of 'communicative competence'. Followed by a chapter on 'female competences' regarding their sense of communication, relations and care. This part is ending with a discussion on the subject of communication and technology. Part III is based on an empirical survey. I have interviewed 25 female employees from two large concerns; the results reflect their views on the subject. Results: No direct effects and changes in communication, interaction and cooperation could be observed. Contradictions and differences are the results of different levels of work organization. So was to find out that the computer-concern operates intensively with the 'philosophy of communication' whereas the insurance company is still in the period of change-over to computers. |
