| Zusammenfassung: | eng: The present work is the result of a research on political knowledge and political consciouness of students at two Teachers Training Colleges, one public and one private, in Vienna. At the basis of the empirical study were two hypotheses. A) Political education is a part of the curriculum as a basic principle but not as a distinct field of teaching, therefore the level of interest in political education with the students of Teachers Training Colleges in Vienna can be regarded as low, the level of political alienation high and that across types of school, number of semesters and sex. B) Students of Teachers Training Colleges show middle- of-the-road political views and on high level of political alienation, and lack of interest in civil and political affairs. The evaluation of the returned questionaires showed a significant correlation between the basic hypotheses and results of the study. |
